Ongoing Reporting - Junior High
As we approach a new school year, we want to ensure that both students and parents/guardians are well informed about assessment practices in our division. Please read the attached document, and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Ongoing Reporting - Junior High
In addition to this document, please reference the 2025-2026 Student Handbook regarding information on assessments, term deadlines and honors requirements (as noted below).
Honors - Students must receive an overall average of 80% in all core subjects (language arts, social studies, math, and science) with no mark below 70% in those core classes. Students must also receive a minimum mark of 3 in any course graded from 1-4. This would include Religion, Health, Physical Education, and all Options.
Term deadlines for assignments - Each term students are required to complete all assigned work. Students have until the end of each term to hand in incompleted work. After this point, the assignment will be recorded as Not Handed In (NHI) in PowerSchool and receive a mark of “0” . Students are only able to make up incomplete assignments during the designated term; they will not be able to submit these assignments after term deadlines.
Year end assessments - students absent for year-end assessments (gr. 9 PATs or gr. 7 & 8 year end assessments) must make arrangements with the subject teacher to complete an alternate final exam prior to being absent.
